Ian is an artist experienced in multiple mediums; however, his favourite art medium is pen and ink. He draws his inspiration from nature and people and often juxtaposes a modern and sometimes abstract style in his artwork.
Some of his biggest influences include names like William Kentridge for his eccentric charcoal sketches that depict movement and emotion and Wayne Barker for his interesting multi-media compositions. Last but not least, Lionel Smit for his colourful portraits. He also loves doing portraits because he believes expression tells a powerful story.
